Public Transport
On weekdays and Saturdays the easiest way of travelling
into the city centre is to use the Park and Ride facility. This is situated at
the roundabout approximately one mile
away from the site towards Chester. A special autobus leaves every 10
minutes and travels non-stop to the centre of Chester.
If you have a motor vehicle, which exceeds the height limit, spaces are
reserved for you at the Park and Ride. This service is inexpensive and saves
time trying to find a parking space in the city centre. Parking in Chester
is less of a problem on Saturday evening and all day Sunday.
Alternatively, you may take a bus to Chester from
Christleton Village (opposite Christleton High School).
This service operates on the hour and half-hour. There is also a bus
service on the road, near to the site and timetables for these buses may be
found in the information cabin.
A taxi to Chester City centre costs about £5.80. It is
also possible to walk (approx. 3 miles) to Chester along the quiet and peaceful
canal towpath.
